Meg + David | October 6, 2018
Meet Meg + David, friends! These two gorgeous humans are lovers of wine + a really good time. They met online + had their first date at 23rd + Main, which is a stellar restaurant in downtown RVA. For their engagement session, these two actually went back to 23rd + Main for a date – cutest idea ever from the incredible J&D Photo.
I met Meg in college – we were in the same sorority! I was super pumped when she reached out, at the suggestion of her twin sister Jo, about using G+G for her special day. Meg had a vision for her day – she wanted gorgeous flowers, delicious food, and killer party. She just needed help making her vision come to life while managing all the stress that comes with planning a wedding.
Meg + David were having their wedding at Delfosse Vineyards + Winery; however, they knew they wanted their first look to take place at UVA. This is where David went to school + the two are avid Hoo’s fans. This was a great location for photos – pretty gorgeous!
Following their First Look these two headed off to the vineyard in preparation for their gorgeous ceremony!
Can we take a minute to apprecaite those views?!? STUNNING.
Their ceremony was short, sweet, and super personal. They had a close friend who married them + he did a fabulous job. It is so nice when the celebrant truly knows the couple.
As an alternative “unity ceremony” Meg + David decided to toast to their marriage. They shared a glass of wine and promised to cheers to all life’s great events that lie ahead.
The ceremony truly was gorgeous + filled with SO much joy + happy tears.
Now these two couldn’t have gotten through the day without their amazing squad. Special shout to all their favorite humans who made this day so memorable.
I mentioned that Meg is a twin, right? Well, did I mention that David is ALSO A TWIN!!??!! Pretty crazy!
In love with the girls mismatched blush dresses. They were gorgeous!!
Prior to their wedding day – Meg + David buried a bottle of bourbon which is supposed to ward off rain on your wedding day. Well it worked + these two got to dig up after there ceremony and enjoy a quick sip!
Now everyone was ready to party + Meg couldn’t wait for guests to see the reception space that was decked out in florals and sparkle. The greenery chandelier was one of my all time favorite elements that the florist + I designed!
Let’s talk about that cake for a second. This was 4-tiered naked cheesecake that was hands down the BEST CAKE I’VE EVER HAD AT A WEDDING. Period. It was heaven in every bite. Sugar + Salt out did themselves.
This night was filled with so much fund and dancing AND a special surprise performance from the FOB who is quite the Elvis impersonator!!
Cheers Dr. + Mrs. Bowen! Wishing you a lifetime of days as happy as this.
