Meet the Petiks!!

Elizabeth is from Texas + Dave is from Virginia. The two met online + from their very first date, they knew they had found the one! These two love country living – they actually raise chickens + have a rescue pit mix pup. Of course, Elizabeth + I bonded over that. Eric + I love living in the country, too, and of course we are overly obsessed with our rescue pup, Macy! For their wedding day, it’s no surprise that Elizabeth + Dave wanted a venue with a scenic view away from hustle and bustle. Naturally, they absolutely fell in love with the views at Trump Winery – they’re hard to beat!

Aside from gorgeous views – this vineyard also has beautiful spaces. The bridal suite at the Grand Hall is to die for. This room is a beautifully neutral and delicate space with mountain views that will make you feel like you’re in a fairy tale.

The Chapel at Trump winery is also about as gorgeous as they come! I don’t think I’ve seen a cuter chapel! Elizabeth absolutely fell in love with this ceremony space when she toured – I am sure you can see why.

My favorite part of their ceremony was that it was officiated by Elizabeth’s Aunt + Uncle. I love it when someone so close to the couple gets to marry them. It makes the service so much sweeter!

Elizabeth was beaming on her wedding day and that was in no small part due to her being surrounded by such loving friends and family. Her best friend and her cousin were her bridesmaids. They were the absolute sweetest ladies + made sure Elizabeth was giddy and laughing all day long.

Dave wasn’t thrilled with all the pictures he had to take throughout the wedding, but he was a champ + made sure everyone laughed their way through it 🙂 Can I also say – these two, that veil, and those views are absolutely gorgeous!!!

After the ceremony, Elizabeth + Dave’s guests enjoyed cocktail hour in the Reserve Room + on the outdoor patio at the Grand Hall. I loved their classic Polaroid guestbook + the vintage riddling rack that we used for their seating chart. For those of you who are dying to know what a riddling rack is: riddling racks are critical to the process of making Champagne. After the sparkling wine has aged on the lees or it’ s yeast , it is ready to be finished. Remuage or riddling is the process that collects the yeast and sediment in a bottle and concentrate it near the mouth of the bottle. (You can read more about them here if you are so inclined)

Cocktail hour was followed by dinner in the Vintage Cellar. I was SO in love with this setup. The wine barrels spanning the space really made for a unique dining experience that you just don’t see every day. It’s was quaint, elegant, and everyone raved about the food from Exchange Events!

My favorite details from this setup were the VA Peanut favors at each place setting + the fact that the silver used on the dining tables belonged to Elizabeth’s grandmother. You should have seen her face when Elizabeth brought her into the space to show her how her silver was being used on this day. The two were in tears within seconds. This is moment that I know is a precious memory for Elizabeth.

Following dinner, these two cuties slipped away for some final photos while guests enjoyed lawn games + dancing kicked off!

And what night would be complete without dessert! Krecek Kakes outdid themselves – I was able to snag a piece of carrot cake at the end of the night + it was SO worth it!

Elizabeth + Dave’s wedding day was one filled with love, laughter, and a lot of dancing. After the wedding, I was actually able to grab coffee with Elizabeth and chat about the day + her first few weeks as a wife. I love hearing updates from my couples + to know they are happily married + living their best lives. I truly miss chatting with my couples after their day is over, so I really enjoyed getting to catch up with Elizabeth after-the-fact.

Speaking of life updates from G+G couples – these two actually welcomed a baby girl, Charlotte, in May!!!! You guys – my heart is SO happy for this beautiful family!
